(57 x 66cm) Seeds on paper

Margot (Lelie) Ripun (B)

Madam Ripun is a kind of artist who’s gentle, unique and slightly eccentric character blends in perfectly with the artwork she produces. Knowing her, is knowing her work. She has gained her nickname “Lily” when she was a young girl by wearing a white lily in her hair. She keeps up this tradition for almost 50 years now. She is the oldest of participants of the Artheists group and has selected this work for the Fossil Light Exhibition, because it is not to behold as an artwork in her sense. To put it in her own words: “It is poetry written with seeds and you should read it like a sad, sad poem. It makes me cry every time I think of it, because it is so true. Go out, young man and tell everyone to plant their seeds, make them flourish and grow a wonderful garden”.
